Many factors determine which fishing line to go for; In this post i will try to cover most situations and which line is required for each situation.

Fishing Style:

 Jigging: A very low memory fishing line is required for the jig to swim correctly, and also the line should be strong enough to endure the violent jigging motion. The only fishing line i recommend for jigging is the power pro braided line along with a mono-filament or fluorocarbon shock leader. Trolling Fishing: For trolling a low memory line is required again to get a good swimming action out of your lure, and another reason is that you don't want your line to stretch over time; which will happen if you use a high memory line. Personally i use Yo-Zuri Hybrid 60lb line; it is a very durable low memory fluorocarbon line. If you can't find the Yo-zuri line in your area; check out Berkley Fireline , It is another super line that i have on one of my reels.

Fishing Club: The basics of high speed vertical jigging

High speed vertical jigging is one on the most addictive fishing techniques, without a question, once you reel in the first fish, you are addicted!

Jigging was originally discovered by Japanese and some other far eastern countries, and then it greatly evolved to what we now know.

To be able to fish this technique successfully your boat must be equipped with a depth finder, and also a fish finder.

The gear required for vertical jigging is a bit different than the gear used for other fishing techniques, the required tools are illustrated below.

On the 14th of  February 2012 We decided to go fishing to the south of the red sea , in an area called Hamata , The area is known to be full or predators like wahoo , barracuda , giant trevallies and others, we spent 3 days on 30 meters boat , From sunrise to sunset we went for trolling fishing and the outcome wasn't much due to bad weather , However , On the first night while bottom fishing it was very boring until it was decided to secure a 120mm line to the boat a long with an empty plastic bottle underneath it (not a fancy way to catch fish but it did really good!) , the reason behind putting the bottle underneath the line where we secured it is to get some sort of a basic alarm when a fish strikes , we did not use a leader, we tied a Mustad needle eye 8/0 directly to the line and rigged a whole dead mackerel along with a 250 gram sinker and just sank it to the bottom and left it there.

Fishing Club:Okuma Cedros High Speed Spinning Reel

Today's Fishing club review goes to the Oukuma Cedros high speed spinning reel, This reel from Okuma was especially designed for speed jigging , With a Max drag of 33 lbs & a gear ration of 5.7:1.

I jigged this reel several times to test it and the results were OK if you are a professional who knows what he is doing , The reel is not durable and if you got tense during a fight with a big fish you may just break the handle, The drag is very strong but its not smooth.

Whats really good about this reel is the price it comes at , Similar reels come at a very high price , I would recommend that reel if you would like to try high speed vertical jigging , It can be a good start but keep in mind that you should not get tense with the handle , Keep it maintained & It won't cause you to lose a fish.
